Allow me to Introduce Myself.

Updated: Apr 12, 2019

Hello there! I'm Christina, and welcome to (hopefully) the first of many blog posts! I'll be honest, I'm new to the whole idea of blogging. I've heard about it for years and always thought it would be fun. It's taken some time, but I've finally taken the plunge! So to kick things off I thought it was appropriate that I introduce myself with a few fun facts about me!

1. I am Pretty Introverted.

I'm sure it seems weird that an introverted person would be so interested in starting a blog - putting themselves out there so to speak, but it's true. I try my best but in person I can't help but to make things awkward, which works when I'm on a photo shoot because it's easy to get my clients to smile or laugh at my awkwardness. I have no issues poking fun at myself but when it comes to meeting a lot of new people at once, I clam up. Now, I've been told that I make a good first impression and it's really not that bad, it's possible this is all in my head, but I don't think I'm lying when I say my personal slogan is, "I came, I saw, I made it awkward."

2. I am a Portrait Photographer based out of Southern California

If you've taken a quick look around, I'm sure you've already noticed this, but for introductions sake, I am a portrait photographer in Southern California serving the

Riverside County areas of Temecula, Murrieta, Winchester/ French Valley, and San Diego county. I love what I do, photography is more than just photographs to me. It is memories with the people we love. It's moments frozen in time forever.

As long as I can remember I have loved photography. Growing up, I loved having photographs of family and friends displayed all over my bedroom and to this day, I have pictures displayed in every corner of my home. Something about photographs makes everything feel more home-y and comforting.

When I have a camera in my hand, the feeling is indescribable. I feel complete. It is very rare that a day goes by when I don't take a picture of something - much to the dismay of my husband and daughter. I'm pretty sure they think my face is the business end of a camera at this point.

3. I am an Active Duty Navy Wife

My husband and I met in high school but it wasn't until long after we graduated that we got together. He was already in the Navy by this point and I was weary to get involved due to the commitment that military relationships can require. However, when I went on my first date with him, I knew instantly, this was it.

Flash forward 6 years later and we are happily married with a beautiful daughter and two dogs. This crazy Navy life has had it's ups and downs but I am always grateful to have a man that is willing to serve our country. With my 6 years of Navy wife life (try saying that five times fast) under my belt, I'd like to take that knowledge and share it here, in my blog.

4. I used to be on YouTube.

One of the things reassuring me that I can do this whole blog thing, is the fact that I used to do essentially the same thing - on YouTube. Originally, my best friend and I

started a channel called, "Diamonds On Deck 76" which grew to 90k subscribers. We used to talk about makeup, motherhood, military life, and some of our most popular videos centered around "Challenges" or silly games.

After awhile, we decided to start our own channels and I went on to create, "BeautyxCLo", where I talked about pretty much the same things as Diamonds on Deck. I also started a vlogging channel called, "LifexCLo", where I posted videos about my daily life.

However, after I had my daughter the realities of motherhood and the demands of prepping, filming, and video editing became all too much, I stopped putting out videos. I still miss it from time to time and debate on going back, but as time goes on I realize that I'd rather dedicate my time to the things I truly love - family, friends, and photography.

I love the idea of having a blog now because I feel it allows me to have the best of both worlds. I can still give advice and share my experiences with an outside audience, but I can do it in yoga pants, no makeup, and a messy bun. Also, no more HOURS of tedious video editing! Can I get an amen???

5. I believe in God.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

Don't worry I won't get all preachy on you. However, my belief in God and my walk in Christianity is a large part of who I am and how I operate. I couldn't make this list without adding it.

6. I love movies and TV Shows and can quote them from memory.

My husband has always been amazed by my ability to quote a movie or tv show at the drop of a hat. I don't know how I picked up this talent but it's there and comes in handy when I'm trying to make things less awkward (I'm an introvert, remember? ).

7. I love to sleep, sleeping is my favorite

I'm pretty sure I was a bear or a sloth in my past life....or maybe a koala?

8. I love animals.

No, seriously I L O V E animals, especially dogs. If I could, I would have all the dogs. Yeah, you read that right. ALL THE DOGS.

These are my two fur babies, Bailey (Left) and Dexter (Right).

9. I'm bad with directions.

Thank goodness for google maps, waze, and all the gps maps out there or I'd be permanently lost. Seriously, it's bad. I get my right and my left mixed up on a daily basis, just to give you an idea of the struggle.

10. I am SO EXCITED to start this Blog!

I really, really am! I've got so many ideas for things I can write about and ideas to share! 2018 is shaping up to be one exciting year and I can't wait to share it all with you!
